Subject: Life is in the Details
I enjoyed your description of your workday, which included a lunch at
the micro-brewery and sitting in the park. I often wonder how you
spend your time when you are not "working" or in "activities" which you
seem to have quite a few of (r-ball, yoga, scouts, exhibitions, etc.) I
could almost visualize you going through the day. Do you think you
have changed much from when I knew you? I think I've changed. I do
still have some of the same insecurities, but I have them more in
perspective (hopefully). When I knew you back when you used to like to
"relax" back, such as you talked about in your note, i.e. sitting in the
park. Lately, it's not that I enjoy doing nothing, but I've
reframed what doing nothing is. I love to sit and watch, for
example, the geese fly in, which some people would say is doing nothing,
but I don't think that way about it. I haven't done that in weeks
even though I was doing it regularly for a while. (It may be why my BP
went back up.) Perhaps now though the geese are long gone. I was
so sleepy yesterday I hardly made it through the work day as I was up
for two hours or so with the tornado warnings, etc. By 2 I thought I
would DIE if I couldn't sleep. One man near here was killed in the
tornado. Oh Lewinsky. I had class, but kept thinking, are you
going to regret not at least getting a glimpse of this. So, I set
my VCR, but when I got home at 9:30, I realized I set it on the wrong
channel. Anyway, I watched about 15 minutes of it. I think
she was just naive and stupid, even dumb. B.W. seemed to think
otherwise. I can't imagine the court making you come all that way
to Orlando to serve on jury. I didn't know such things happened.
Thank god I think I only have a week to "worry." The harsh reality
is that if I miss a class, I could easily miss 5-10 points on my final
exam, and blow a grade. When I had to go downtown for the intro
two hours of jury duty they warned us about "going right back to work"
if we were supposed to. I don't know if I told you, but I NEVER
get time off to run around during the day, so when I got out, first I
got a hamburger at that great place (hole in the wall downtown) even
though it was 10 a.m. When I went in they said "we serve em
anytime." (I saved it for later). Then I went to the pharmacy for
a refill, and also went by a new "Atlanta Bread Bakery" place which I
had heard about opening. I got a sour dough baguette and an asagio
(sp?) cheese bread (the last was so good I ate much of it in the car).
Well, work calls. Elizabeth
