Subject: Been busy
Your message last week said that you thought you would take off both
Friday and Monday so I hadn't sent a reply. I have been really
busy with the ATF proposal. We sent the ATF the proposal about two
weeks ago and on Friday they sent back a request for some changes to the
proposal, mostly adding a bunch of hardware and software. Well our
company doesn't have a separate group for getting cost quotes so I had
to do it. What is really a pain is that the ATF has scheduled a
meeting in Cincinnati for this Thursday and Friday and even has bought
tickets for me and another PEC guy to go but we can't go unless the
contract has been awarded and in place. Well I just finished
getting all the quotes this morning and sent it over to our contracts
people so they can put together the official proposal back to the ATF.
The ATF says they will turn it around today so I will be able to go on
the trip. I really doubt that they can turn it around that quick
so I'm left hanging until the last minute today to know if I'll be going
tomorrow to Cincinnati.
It sounds like you exams are going well, even with the one thing you
missed. With so much to memorize and remember I could never do it.
Spring is finally here and it is quite beautiful. Julie and I went
down to Dumbarton Oaks last weekend.
Dumbarton Oaks is a very old
estate in Georgetown that actually goes back to the 1700's. The
old mansion is not a library and museum own by Harvard. What is
really neat is that it has about 15 acres of immaculate landscaped
gardens with different things flowering during the spring and summer.
This time of year is the cherry blossoms, tulips and forsythia.
There is paths that wander around though the gardens with pools,
fountains and sculpture throughout. What is really amazing is that
it is in the center of downtown Georgetown.
Well I had a bit of time before the cost review so got this off.
