Subject: Smoked Employees
Today was employee appreciation day. Someone had the brilliant
idea of grilling hamburgers on the bottom floor of the parking deck.
Unfortunately the weather and wind made all the smoke go into the deck.
It was so smoky when I first walked in it was like being in a fog.
The smell is now all over my clothes and hair and I didn't even stay
there to eat my free burger. We got t-shirts as well and a
coupon booklet. They keep experimenting with this employee
appreciation day. Whatever they do, someone complains.
I'm complaining this time. I always feel sympathy for those who
plan such events, however. There was a band and everything, and
there were supposed to be games. Otherwise, not much is new.
Work has been incredibly slow and I've just broken down and at times
briefed cases. I get sick of the internet after awhile, unless
something new catches my attention, like the Scotland stuff.
Yesterday I surfed recipes, but there were so many, even if I tried a
new recipe a week--there were 1000s to choose from and I would get to
sample very few. I just had the idea while typing though of trying
to do a tofu dish in the crockpot. I like tofu with tomatoes and
green peppers and onions. I hope it would not come out like a soup
though. Well, I know you're busy. These slow work days are
harder to get through than the busier ones, they just drag and drag.
