I think you had a better weekend than I did. I had planned to go
on a bird walk at 8 a.m. on Sat. but was just too tired and exhausted,
which then makes me depressed, because I don't get to go do the things I
wanted. I'm not clear what brought on the exhaustion, but it was
pretty totalizing. I literally crashed all weekend. I had been
pushing my walking up just recently to 45 minutes instead of just 30,
and that might have done it, in combination with an extremely busy work
week and long hours at school.
Rather than do nothing, I read an interesting paperback about two
brothers and another man who discovered 3-4 million dollars in a crashed
airplane. I thought the novel was captivating because it showed
how the "dreams" of the people involved came to revolve around what they
could do with the money.
They had decided to sit on the money for six months also, to see if any
news about it showed up, so it was interesting to see how "the secret"
kept spreading as they let other people know about their find, first
wives, etc., then a friend or so. I also cooked a lamb shoulder
roast, which took three hours Friday night. It has been ages since I
cooked a huge roast like that. I vaguely recall I had a dream
recently about you and Julie. You were very excited because you
had gotten back together full time. It was a very brief part of a
larger dream about other things, but there was that small segment about
you. I've heard that a theatre near here in Dothan is one of the
few that has THX-EX (?) which is the format intended for the Star Wars
film. A resident had a ticket to go see Star Wars there and was
telling me about it. Even our newest theatre here I think only has the
THX from what he said. He explained it all to me, about how that
was the best way to see Star Wars.
The Sunday papers were just glombed up with advertisements for Star Wars
stuff, T shirts, toys, watches, action figures. It really turned
me off.
I'll go eventually. I may even drive one Saturday to that town
nearby which has that special theatre, because they also have an art
museum which sometimes has interesting exhibits. I hope you don't
have to drive to that court job if you don't want to, but it sounds
interesting to me. However, I imagine there are probably other
interesting projects as well. Yes, I did pass the course.
Thank God. The worst part in my imagination (What's the worst that
can happen?) was having to take the thing all over again. He only
failed two people, and fortunately I wasn't one of them. The
grades were still very, very low, but I think he curved more. My
grade was the pits, but it was a pass. The bottom line is that's
what counts. I watched a little t.v. last night and saw several
ads about upcoming theatre movies that sounded interesting--The
Thirteenth Floor, which is supposed to be a virtual reality film, and
also a new film with John Travolta, the title which I forget.
Well, work calls. Elizabeth
