Subject: Busy
This week has been really busy. Not only with the ATF project but
a new project started. The new project was a bit of a surprise in
that Monday was the first I heard of it. We submitted a proposal
to the USDA to develop a Web interface to Veterinary database and
Wednesday they asked us to discuss our proposal with them. Since
it is a Web project and I now seem to be the "expert" in our division,
my boss appointed me as the system architect for the project. Well
to our surprise they awarded us the project on Thursday but the catch is
the first phase is to be completed by June 30. It is only about
five screens and five reports which should not be big deal but it is
still a short time. The system we need to connect to is in Denver
so next week (or more likely the week after) I'll have to go to Denver
for a day or two to scope out the project. Next week will be quite
busy, on Tuesday I am giving a two hour seminar on Web technology (ASP,
Java) at the request of the company CTO. Thursday I have an ear
doctor checkup (ear is fine) and Thursday afternoon I have to take Julie
to the eye doctor for she is having the laser correction on her other
eye. If I go to Denver I would leave late Tues evening and return
Thurs. morning, I hope it is the next week! No plans much for the
weekend, it is supposed to be great weather, around 85 and sunny.
Probably will do some biking, and things around the house. The
John Travolta film is called "The General's Daughter", I saw the
previews when we saw Star Wars. Hope things are well with you,
have a good holiday. Larry
