I've been kinda of half busy for the past couple of days. On
Tuesday my computer started acting up with Mail not working at
all. On Wednesday the tech support said it would be best to erase
my hard disk and reinstall everything which they did and then the
computer didn't work at all. Finally about 11am today they got me
a new computer. It actually turned out good in the end for I got
one of the newest computers 400mhz with 128 meg ram, a real screamer.
It will probably take a few days to put everything back the way it was
but it should be worth it in the end. I did watch some of the TNT
Microsoft/Apple movie. I had read so much about the history of
them before I wasn't real interested in it. I mainly watched the
first 45min or so and caught bits after that. Yes, I was doing the
same thing during that time, I had a friend who had like serial number 7
of the original Altar computer and I bought mine a few months later.
I did the programming in assembly and Basic like they did. I could
see the potential but didn't have the foresight or connections to "make"
it into anything. I always wondered "what if". Julie's
father has a blind friend who he teaches piano too and last week we took
her father to the airport (he went to London and Paris) he asked if I
knew anything about programs that allowed a blind person to use the
computer. I said I would check into it and have found several
programs that read the screen and allow blind persons to use the web.
I may get into setting it up for her father's blind friend. Could
be kinda of fun. Well back to work. Larry
