Elizabeth,
Yes I would agree, how you define false turns would make a difference.
In my view, the decisions one makes on life’s path were made, unless one
believes in time travel, there could have been no other. After
playing racquetball one night I almost won but didn’t. I was
playing against an guy about 10 years older than me and he always beat
me. I came up with several reasons of things that if I could have
done to have won. His response was “Should’ve, could’ve,
would’ve”. This really connected in me in a way much beyond
the racquetball game. One can always look back and say I
should’ve, could’ve or would’ve but the decisions made were made and
cannot be changed. I do not see them as false turns but only as
turns that brought me to this point in life. You are meant to be
what you are here on now.
Yes I could choose to ignore my desire to return to Gainesville but it
would not be false, just a different direction on my path. At this
time it is the direction I am headed as it feels right.
