In ‘74 streaking became a fad at universities across the country and was reported in Time magazine as "catching on among college students and other groups". Streaking was becoming a regular occurrence at the University of Florida as reported in the University paper The Alligator and the Gainesville Sun so one evening I decided to try it. I drove down to the campus, parked my car and headed towards the Plaza of the Americas in the center of campus to look for streakers. I wasn’t disappointed when I soon saw a group of a dozen or so kids slowly jogging naked. I was dressed in a T-shirt, shorts and tennis shoes and no underwear, so when I saw them, quickly took off my T-shirt and shorts and joined them as they passed by. The group grew in size to several dozen as it proceeded to jog at a slow place across the plaza heading east towards Tigert hall, crossing 13th street heading toward Sorority row where we passed by several Sororities before heading back across 13th street to the campus where the group begin to disperse. I stopped, put back on my T-shirt and shorts which I had been carrying, returned to my car and then went home.
