Scott Mixson, son of Mary S. Mixson, a young man
employed in Langdon's corset factory in Bridgeport, tumbled headlong
down an elevator shaft late yesterday afternoon, a distance of some
thirty feet. He struck his head squarely on the cross bar of the
elevator in the fall. Mixson's cries attracted the attention of some of
his fellow workman and they hastened to his rescue. When he was picked
up blood was oozing from a bad scalp wound and it flowed in a stream
down his face. He was placed on a table and the ambulance was summoned.
ON its arrival the corps found Mixson lying in a stupor. Hypodermic
injections were administered and the corps temporally bandaged his
wounds. He was conveyed the emergency hospital where it was found on
examination that he was suffering from the concussion of the brain. He
may recover.

A.K. Mixson, age 35, was killed by overhead bridge near Boyce Station, six miles from Chattanooga a few nights ago. It is thought he was riding on top of a southbound freight train at the time. Papers on his person indicated him to be A. K. Mixson of Charleston, SC, although more recently employed by Nashville Central Railroad at Nashville. He was respectably dressed.
