December 14, 2004, Grandma Mixson died. She had taken ill and was moved from the Good Samaritan Retirement Home in Williston where she had been for the last several years to the Hospice Care Center in Gainesville where she quietly passed away.

Rosalie Anderson Mixson Yawn of Flemington died yesterday at the E.T. York Hospice Care Center in Gainesville. She was 103.

Mrs. Yawn was born in Flemington and was a lifelong resident of Marion County. She was a homemaker and enjoyed the outdoors, fishing and gardening. She was a member of the Eastern Star.

She was a member of the First Christan Church in McIntosh for many years.

She was preceded in death by husbands Wilbur D. Mixson and Jesse Yawn; a son, Adrian Mixson; and a daughter, Myrtice Mixson.

Survivors include sons Morris D. Mixson of Gainesville and Arnold F. Mixson of Cross Creek; 10 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

Graveside Funeral Services for Mrs. Yawn, age 103, Homemaker, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, December 17, 2004, at Flemington Cemetery, with Reverend Tony Clubb and Reverend Tom Stallworth officiating. Burial will follow. Arrangements are under the direction of the Knauff Funeral Home, 512 E Noble Avenue, Williston FL 32696. Mrs. Yaw, a resident of Williston, FL, died on December 14, 2004 in Gainesville. Visitation will be held from 1-2:00 p.m. at the Cemetery (Flemington). In Lieu of Flowers, Donations may be made to Good Samaritan Retirement Home.
