Boy, I had the ironing today. 13 pr. Blue jeans, & 4 dresses for Brenda besides all the other! Seems like I ironed all day long! We had quite a storm this afternoon. Morris didn’t work tonight so we enjoyed having him home.

Cleaned up the house good & washed some. Morris got home tonight in time to see Playhouse 90 on TV and it was really good. About unmarried mothers in this home. I cryed all through it.

Took care of the clinic at school today & got 3 letters written and a story read in the Readers Digest Con. Book. Ate with Larry. It just thrills them so when I eat with them. Took all 3 then after school to buy groceries. Morris went to work tonight.

We got up early & went to Middleburg (near Jacksonville) to have Mr. Frisbee to fill out our income tax. Turned out we owed $75.58 which was less than we expected. Got our first strawberries on the way home – 4 pts. & I made a short cake for supper. Oh, what good things - delicious. Put the kids to bed at 7:30, & I wet at 9 o’clock.

Wet to S.S. & church this morning & Betty & Billy brought their dinner up & ate with us. Went over to see Dot, as Betty hadn’t seen her house yet. Betty & Billy left about 5 and Charlie & Emily stopped by to see us. They stayed about an hour. Corky stayed all day with us as Mom & Dad went down to Dr. Watsons new hotel for the opening at Homosassa Springs. A beautiful day today.

Boy, did I wash today. 6 loads. Its’ such a nice day. About 82°. Took me all day to wash & get it down & put away. Kids come home so tired so we all took a nap this afternoon. I was tired too after the long weekend. Morris worked tonight. Stayed up to see Desilu Playhouse on T.V. Pretty good show with William Rendix.

Ironed this morning & cleaned up some. Talked quite a bit to Agnes off & on so it took me 2 ½ hrs. to get my ironing done. Took the kids & Tommy Hughlett over to the shopping center to see Amail Land USA. Wasn’t much too it, the kids liked it, they road the elephant train & were thrilled as the elephant drank some water & then threw it back on him & they all got wet.!

Went to the Dentist this morning & it looks bad! Took X-Rays of all my teeth. He said I had pryria in my gums. Looked at David’s teeth & he’s got 8 cavities that nave to be filled. Got groceries & the kids & I took a nap this afternoon. We went to the show tonight. Saw “Separate Tables” which David Niven just won Best Actor of the year in. Wasn’t good at all. Don’t see how he got it! Arnold bought the bicycles tonight.

Got up & cleaned the house quickly & went out to Mixsons. After dinner Grandpa & Morris went fishing & Grandma, the kids & I went to Williston to buy Grandma’s groceries. Had cokes in the drugstore & look around the 10¢ store. Larry got a splinter under his finger nail & had to take him to the hospital & have Dr. Brashear get it out. Had to cut it out! He was so brave. He’s the best thing when anything happens to him.

The kids & I went to S.S. & church this morning. David went out to eat with Corky & Grandma Junior for his dinner. We all took a nap this afternoon & then rode by & got a root beer & then to Grandma Juniors. Morris & the kids all helped to fix scrambled eggs & bacon for supper. How they love to help.

A beautiful day & I did 6 loads of washing & cleaned the house good. We’re having a S.S. class meeting tonight but I didn’t get to go as Morris had to work and I’ve been mad about it all day.

Well was it ever cold this morning! Suppose to be frost in the morning so I covered all our flowers & plants with newspaper. Did my ironing this morning. Baked a marble cake this afternoon it sure was good. Morris cut the bar out of one of the bicycles for Brenda so they can start to ride tomorrow.

Well no frost this morning but quite cold! Brenda & Larry rode their bicycles to school this morning for the first time. They were so excited they were ready to go at 15 to 8. We went Westwood Junior High the 1958-1959 school year as the new elementary school that was to become Littlewood was still being built. Westwood was 1.5 miles from our house.

Cleaned house & washed today. Mom called & asked us over for supper. We went. The kids took a nap so we stayed over there until about 9.

Cleaned house some & Daddy called & said Mom was all nervous about getting things done & trying to get ready to go to Chicago & Effie Effie was Grandma Junior’s maid who was the first black person I had ever met. didn’t come so I went over & helped clean her house. Went to town & got the boys a haircut & Morris something to take along.

Well, at 6 o’clock this morning Dad & Mom came over to get Morris to start for Chicago Dad went to the F&E Check Protector company in Chicago to for training on how to repair their check writer machines. & Mom & Dad then to Wisconsin to see Grandma Junior Actually, it would be Grandma “Junion” as Grandpa had changed his last name from Junion to Junior. who is real sick. Morris went to the factory at Chicago. We all went over to Moms to stay for the week. Let the kids go to the show, while I bought groceries. It rained practically all day. Couldn’t sleep good because of Mom’s Big bed. Not used to foam rubber.

Got up & went to S.S. & church (in the rain). What a night. Gary didn’t get in til 2:30! Had diner & went over to our house this afternoon to get a few things I’ve forgotten. Corky & I watched T.V. & then went to bed early. Daddy called from Chicago about 10 tonight. Said it rained all the way up. Talked to my honey said he missed me! I sure miss him. Don’t think I’ll make it all week.

Went & got Effie this morning & we worked all day. She ironed all afternoon. Cooked bread pudding, a ham, baked beans, scalloped corn, & potato salad, & sliced tomatoes, & Gary actually said it was good! (He’s been complaining about my cooking every since I’ve been here.) The wash got dry in cloudy weather & it’s raining again tonight. Had to spank Brenda & David for cutting up and making so much noise.

Went to my Circle Meeting this morning. Helen Anthony came home for lunch with me. She couldn’t get over how lovely Mom’s house is. Really enjoyed having her. Started raining this afternoon and it still is. Wonder how Morris is getting along. Hope it’s not too cold up there! Really beginning to miss him today. The kids & Corky are beginning to fight. Maybe it won’t rain tomorrow.

Well it quit raining & I went over to Dot’s house about 10 o’clock & stayed & ate lunch with her, then went & got the kids from school & went back over to her house. We went over to Corky’s school to watch him play baseball. He just got up to bat & it was the end of the game! He was sure disappointed.

Took me all day to straighten up the house & do a little ironing. Just plain lazy today. Corky & the kids fuss & argue from the time he gets home until bed. Be glad to get back home. Daddy called tonight said they have started home. Said hi to Morris & that he was O.K. & that was about all. His mother was doing O.K. Not very sick after all, just old & misses him.

Took Effie & me all day to clean up this big house. Took Corky to play ball at the new park on 16th. The kids & I stayed & watched him. He decided not to go anymore after it was over.

Went to S.S. & church & came home to eat dinner & while I was doing the dishes, Mom & Dad & Morris got home. How good they looked! It took an hour to pack the car with the stuff I had over to Mom’s! Morris has never talked to me so much. He said it snowed in Chicago last Mon. Morning.

Well, what a wash I did today. We took a nap this afternoon & went to bed early tonight. Morris is till talking about his trip. Are we ever lovey! He needs to go away more often!

Well Morris got paid today & the new Winn Dixie opened their store yesterday so I bought some groceries today. Also got myself a new pair of straw shoes. Morris stayed home tonight, and it seems so good. Gee, he’s been sweet this week. Need to go away more often I guess!
