Good afternoon. I just got around to sending a note as I was busy this
morning I spent the morning talking to software vendors on the phone and
then interviewing a new person for our group. Actually the guy we were
interviewing is a friend of mine from two jobs ago. We worked on image
systems together at Dyncorp and he is still there. As it turns out they
are moving the image system he has been working on for the Navy to
Millington Tennessee in July so he was just starting to look for a job
when I called him up to tell him about opportunities here. It looks like
we will be making him an offer. Strange how things work out.
I would have like to seen the PBS special about the Dead Sea Scrolls and
new testament. I always had an interest in such, probably from being
brought up in a "church going, Baptist family". I read some awhile ago
about how the scrolls were found quite a few years ago but where not
being release until they were "translated" by some group. It sounded
more like they were trying to control what the scrolls said from getting
out. I understand that much of what has been translated has not been
released. Having been brought up reading the bible and having those many
years of Baptist interpretation I have an interest in what new light the
scrolls might add.
I don't know if you remember by my grandfather (mother's side) was a
Baptist preacher. A real Hell and Damnation type. My older sister turned
out to be my mother's dream in that she married a man who became a
Baptist Minster and they were missionaries in Austria for 13 years. They
now live in Lawrence,
Kansas and he has his own church. I really like him for he is a more
modern/liberal type and his church caters to the University crowd.
Oh well, back to some work.
Larry
I like the play of the "Re:" from the reply to make Religion.
