Subject: The Good Old Days
I just now got to check my mail, which is not like those few weeks when
it seemed as if I never had anything to do. I have had one job
after another both yesterday and today. Except for one last "note"
to someone about a project, I'm just about caught up.
I'd like your recipe, because lamb is my favorite "chunk" of meat.
I could probably guess at it, as I've made parmesan coated chicken
before and various stuffings, but details wouldn't hurt. I was
surprised to find a roast in the store at a reasonable price, but it was
imported from New Zealand, but that's okay because I know they produce a
lot for export. I packed mine with garlic as well (I'd never had
one like this before as it was presliced and then tied back together),
but then I put on an herb rub, more like a coat, from a recipe I've had
for a long time--more garlic, paprika, marjoram, pepper, etc. It
comes out almost what people now a days call "blackened." I love
cold lamb sandwiches!
After a weekend of "planning" I started Monday by being late to work 15
minutes and then also forgetting my lunch, but I did go home and walk in
the hour and a half before class, as I've "planned." Of course, of
all things, the very first night I am not at class an hour early, I walk
in at 6:25 and the prof for some reason had "started early", sort of
jumping the gun on 6:30, and I know my watch was right. However, I
felt good getting the 30 minute walk in. There is just enough time
to do it and, also a new plan, go ahead and have my "dinner" at that
time. I've had a real problem with leaving class at 9:30 and being
absolutely starving. That has led to fast food or eating too much
right before bed, which I really need to amend.
Well good, you now have a "friend" at work. What ever happened
about your job interview? So, are you "more" friends with Wendy. I
guess you are. What is she doing? Is she perhaps working
somewhere where she might have e-mail? Strange--with their/his
income at least, I'd think they'd have kept an account "for her" at
home. I wonder what she's doing. I mean I don't know her,
but arrangements in relationships always intrigue me. Most of my
female friends now have their own e-mail either at home or at least at
work, as I do.
I studied last night, too late, but I sort of got into it, also being
motivated by a "sample" exam that was handed out.
Did I tell you I went ahead and enrolled in the Harvard Cyber law
course, but haven't had a chance to even look at the stuff since then. I
did get an e-mail that they had major problems with access during the
first week or so, so perhaps it would have been futile for me to try.
So, to make business cards, you said you need special paper, but do you
need software? I think I can get cards at work, if I wanted, but
I'd rather make my own. I have a color printer at work.
How far along are you with the Yoga. I have several books and I've
started yoga on and off all my life. One of my most cherished
experiences is going to a workshop in Orlando when I was there, with the
woman who did the t.v. shows (Lilias, Yoga and You ??). In one
part of the workshop, we were lying stretched out and she SANG. It
was so beautiful, almost timeless, like a lullaby. I always wish I
had it recorded some how.
I sort of formed a "contact" here at work. The woman who was
starting her home business came to me later and asked me if I knew
anything about "book publishing." We talked a while, and it seems
she is very, very interested in writing. I brought in my Writer's
Market and loaned it to her. The thing is, the entire hospital is
so busy, there is no time to chat.
More bad weather headed here Thursday, from what I see. One benefit of
going home before class is that I can catch the tail end of the news,
which is usually the weather, and also I can do one or two small tasks.
Would you like to write a book together? I've read some lately
that are by "joint authors." I heard that Hillary Clinton made
more than her husband off her book royalties.
Time to stop and go back to tasks. Elizabeth
