"Sort of bad" sounds a little understated for your night yesterday.
You would think that the professor would find that something was not
quite right if so many students did poorly on the exam. Then to have the
professor and you fellow student act and say what they did is really
inconsiderate. And top all that off with a $15 ticket for parking
the wrong way, that is ridiculous!
Does your bank have an overdraft protection option? We have our
checking set up that if we write a check and there is not enough funds
it automatically transfers funds from our savings account. They
charge $3 to do it but, hey, you don't have to worry about it.
We had an interesting experience last night. We got home and found
the screen to the bathroom window laying on the ground. The
bathroom is on the third floor above the front door. I found that
strange. Well when we got in we couldn't find one of the cats.
Then we put it together. The cat likes to sit in the window and watch
the birds in the tree just outside the window. He must have tried
to get a bird and pushed the screen out and fell out. I went
outside looking for him thinking he would be long gone. He is an
inside cat, he only has been outside a few times, twice when he slipped
out the door and several times on a leash. But I heard a meek meow
and there he was under the neighbors bush. He really wanted to get back
in the house. Our other cat was really glad to see him and just
followed him around everywhere he went. He seemed OK but Anne took
him in to work this morning for x-rays. When Anne put him the cat
carrier, the other cat wanted to go to and got in the carrier with him
so Anne took him too. The two cats are just the best of buddies.[1]
I am supposed to be switching offices today (maybe Monday). They
wanted to put me and Gary Aiken> (the new guy who is my friend) next to
each other. I will still have a window office but with only a single
large window instead of my current double whole wall window, oh well
life is tough. Actually I think it will be better as it is on the
north side of the building and does not get quite as much sun. I
find that I often have to close the shades because the sun coming in the
window causes too much glare on the computer screen.
No, I haven't talked much about downers. Things in my life are
going pretty well right now. I am in more of a "enjoying life"
mode.

[1] We got Nebie the previous Christmas, see story. Oliver was Anne’s cat that she brought home with her after she finished Veterinary school. Oliver had been brought into the Veterinary school because he had a serious infection which Anne, while in school, help treat him. Although “healed”, Oliver needed to be on a special antibiotic the reminder of his life to keep the infection at bay.
