Subject: Hello
I hope you've just been too busy or preoccupied to write, and that
nothings wrong. I haven't heard from you since last Friday, I
believe. I've been excited today because somehow I got into a full
text article database in Utah, and have been reading lots of interesting
articles, some medical. I marked the site as a favorite when I
first found it, but interestingly when I try to get into the site any
other way, by starting out at their home page, etc., my access is
restricted or denied. I don't know if I just fluked in somehow or
what, but logic tells me I shouldn't have access, because it is full
text articles from copyrighted journals. I read lots of stuff about the
x-files, the new movie, the episode written about Gibson, and also an
article about the scientist who has a job consulting for the x-files
(she does it for free because she enjoys it so much). I also printed out
some medical articles and an article which compares all the different
internet search engines. Lately I have started using Exite instead
of Yahoo for searches because it provides, or seems to better results.
Also, it has a "find more articles like this" feature.
I continue very tired, although somewhat better today. I wasn't
able to force myself up today until almost 7:15. I don't know how
I got here on time, but I did it by eliminating everything except
getting dressed and swallowing my vitamins. I just stuck bread and
sandwich meat in a bag without even making the sandwich.
Very big news is that Baptist Health just bought several hospital
facilities here in Montgomery, from the Columbia system. The
purchase price was like 1.2 billion. (I hope I still get a raise
soon)
So far because of Memorial Day I don't have classes Monday. Also,
because my Tues. night prof. teaches the same class on Monday as on
Tues., she cancelled next Tuesday's class. The thing is though, I don't
think Memorial Day is a recognized Baptist holiday. I remember
telling you they give few holidays, but give you paid time off to use
when you want.
Interestingly, Gibson said he is "living off" income from The
Neuromancer, still.
I read an interesting article about crooks who deliberately cause
accidents in the beltway, to collect insurance, etc.
Later, Elizabeth
