Good morning.  I've been quite busy the last couple of days and didn't get the chance to write so I thought I would send a quick note before the weekend.  I've been working on a web interface for the retrieval of documents for the ATF project.  It has been quite fun, I have been wanting to do some web work for sometime and was really glad that the new job gave me the chance.  I spend some time this morning searching the Washington Post web site for some articles on Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms to make mock Agent reports to put in my database to do test searches.  I have a whole pile of actual reports but if I put them in the system them I have to isolate the system from the building network.  I don't want to do this because I like working from my office with a window and if I isolate the development system then I have to do all my work in the lab (for the next three months), yuk.  I was somewhat disappointed with the Post web site for they only allow searches for the last two weeks of articles.  If you want anything older you have to pay.  I checked the NY Times and they make you pay for all articles.
 
No big plans for my weekend other then more work on the fish pool and garden.

Although not “secret” the ATF reports were considered sensitive and had rules about who could see them.
