Thanks for the book tip. It sounds interesting. Julie's father
worked for the NSA in the cryptology group most of his career.
Julie's mother got a book that discussed the NSA cryptology group during
WWII and it had a picture of a group of men running some old computer
equipment. What was interesting was that Julie's father was in the
picture. I have read a couple of sci-fi books the past month.
I always take one on vacation so I read one on my trip to Florida and
another while on the rafting trip. I forgot their titles but one
was by
Charles Sheffield and the other by
Vernor Vinge. Both were pretty good. I had run across
their names in Wired some time ago and made a note and stuck it in my
wallet for when I go to the bookstore. I heard Paul Duke on NPR
talk about the 100 best novels and he had some issues with their list,
books that should have been on it and others he questioned why.
I'll have to get the list and look it over.
Speaking of Wired did you read the latest? What do you think about
the year 2000 situation?
No I don't remember the Bent Card.
