Subject: Books on Monday
I read and heard several more reviews and comments on the "100 Best
Books" list. I found a copy of it on www.npr.org. I have
read about 10, seen about 10 in movie form (some of the same ones as
I've read) and there were 4 or 5 I might have read or seen the movie but
wasn't sure. There were quite a few I had not heard of. I
found it hard to believe that Ulysses made No. 1.
Random house has the "Board's 100 Best" compared to their readers (The
Modern Library) I thought the reader's list was more, say,
practical. Atlas Shrugged was number 1. I read about 25 of
their list but you have to question their list also as it has "Tek
Lords" by
William Shatner on it (no. 62).
Had a nice weekend, bike ride on the canal, dinner with some friends,
and things around the house.
