On October 26th Grandma Mixson had her 100th birthday and I flew down to Florida for the celebration. Security at the airport was crazy, it took over an hour to get through security and for the first time I had to take off my shoes and belt, what a pain. It was a nice celebration with two of Granma’s sons, Dad and Arnold there, the oldest son, Adrian, had died in 1979. In addition, there were over forty grand and great-grandchildren there. I went up to Grandma sitting in a chair and said, “Hello Grandma.”, she looked up at me like a wise old owl with her large round glasses, paused for a second, and then said in her familiar somewhat squeaky voice, “Larry, your bald just like Grandpa used to be.” Everyone who was gathered around her broke out laughing.
