The Cremation

The Bali Nagaben cremation ceremony had to be one of the highlights of the trip for me.  I had read about the cremation in the travel book and when, the day before we were schduled to leave, Surya said there there was to be one in the village where we were staying I was excited. A Ngaben is performed to release the soul of a dead person so that it can enter the upper realm where it can wait for it to be reborn or become liberated from the cycles of rebirths.  As you will see it was a very unique experience.
