Subject: Really: Bad Day
What a pain to have to move from a place you really like because of
neighbors. The closer are packed together the more likelihood for
friction between them. I have been fortunate to not lived in
apartments but only houses or townhouses. In a town house you only
have neighbors on each side which can be a problem but not as likely as
in an apartment living with neighbors above, below, and on the sides.
We have had a few minor issues with neighbors but in the end it either
worked out or at least we grew a tolerance for each other.
I had a really bad week last week. First I got a sinus infection
which I went to the doctor for and got some antibiotics which, finally,
today seem to be clearing up. Worst than that though is that in
Julie and my last therapy session Julie announced that she wanted to
move out. Things between us have been up and down the past few
years but we were making some real progress this past year on most of
the issues. In the past couple of sessions Julie brought up some
issues which I thought we had mostly already worked through but clearly
not to her satisfaction. I knew we had more work to do and we
would continue to do so. I didn't expect that she would want to
move out. Well I went through periods of anger, depression, relief
and acceptance. I would expect it will take several weeks for her
to find a place and make the move. In the mean time I am sure it
is going to be somewhat difficult and tense for both of us.
For some good news I delivered the system I have been working on to the
ATF last week and spent last Friday setting it up at the ATF. I
will probably be going down to the ATF several days this week and next
to do configuration, testing and user training.

Yes, it was a really bad day, while on the surface, Julie and my relationship seem to be doing ok, underneath there were issues that had been coming out in our couples therapy sessions like the thing about me not getting angry. When the therapist asked me about things I didn’t like or irritated me about Julie I had quite a number of things, but nothing all that big, but in the past few years had started to add up but I was still committed to the relationship, it surprised me that Julie wanted to move out.
